I have always been inspired by products built or crafted in earlier generations for their genuine functionality and textile appeal. Phones with real bells, light switches that have that audible “click” when you push the button, and items of weight and texture.

I began to realize this recurring appreciation after purchasing a turn-of-the-century bungalow in Portland, Oregon. While preparing to update our home for modern conveniences, my wife and I wanted to retain some of the original charm of our house without sacrificing quality. Most of the original finishes in our house were built and made right here in the Pacific Northwest. Original finishes are so often hard to come by these days. I yearned to contribute to the availability of sturdy quality products made locally and decided to do something about it. Creating these products gives me such joy and pride of ownership and I want everyone to be able to enjoy them for themselves for years to come.

Rockwater Concrete is a manufacture of products made primarily of concrete, wood and steel. We produce these products for use in the residential and commercial construction industry. Our business model is both Business to Business and direct to consumer. Particular products produced on a larger scale will be available through retailers and distributors. Other short run products will be available direct to consumer. Rockwater has grown out of our current space due to demand from our retail partner (Chown Hardware). We need a larger facility to be able to meet the production requirements ahead of us.
